Greensward Academy is proud to announce our seventh set of examination results. The academy policy on examinations entries emphasises the opportunity for the students to enter examinations in all of those subjects they have been studying. However, there is the obligation on students to complete all the requirements of the course in terms of continuous assessment tasks and coursework. The academy believes that it is important that all students complete their courses and seek to fulfil their potential through public examinations.
Many congratulations to all our Year 11 students for another set of excellent results. After two years of hard work and dedication to their GCSE and BTEC courses they have achieved the following: 70% gained 5 GCSEs at A*- C with 67% A*- C with English and Maths,100% gained 1 A*- G. The vast majority secured the necessary grades to access their chosen pathway with a significant number of students staying on at Greensward. We wish all of the class of 2016 the very best of luck for whichever pathway they follow in the future.
A Level Results
After years of studying, months of revising and hours of sitting exams, the wait was finally over for Greensward Academy Sixth Form students as they received their A Level and BTEC results. With an A*-B pass rate of almost 50%, there was much to celebrate both for the academy and individual students.
Special mention must go to Jack Knox for gaining an incredible 2 A* grades in Mathematics and Statistics and an A grade in Economics; he will take up his place at Nottingham University next month with the perfect academic foundation upon which to build. Indeed, with Sally Cotgrove, Molly Graham and Georgia Overton also gaining a clean sweep of A grades, Greensward students look set to take on the world... and win!
Highlighting the breadth of talent at the school, students are progressing onto university courses as diverse as Law, Geography, Midwifery, Chemistry, Physics, Drama and International Business to name but a few. As they now fly the Greensward nest they can be proud of all they achieved; they took each and every one of the opportunities offered to them, and made them count. We wish them all the very best of luck and success for what comes next.
Congratulations to our Year 11 students who received some fantastic English Literature results. Nearly 24% of students received A/A* grades, which is a fantastic achievement, but even better that that was the fact that 81% of students made expected progress and 45% of students made beyond expected progress - an outstanding achievement for students across the year group. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces as they collected their results slips.
