Lower School - Years 7, 8 and 9

Before any student arrives at Greensward Academy from a primary school we take account of information from the feeder school as well as the Key Stage 2 results. Students are tested on entry and assigned to teaching groups. Regular assessment may lead to changes to these groups. At Key Stage 3, we lay a solid foundation in:

*English        *Science        *Mathematics        *Technology        *Computer Science        *Drama        *Geography        *Religious Education        *Art

*Physical Education           *Music                   *History               *Modern Foreign Languages             *PSHEE and Citizenship

We provide a variety of different teaching strategies, including individual thinking and collaborative skills, as well as investigating, experimenting and communicating to a variety of different audiences.   In Year 9 we run an elective curriculum model where students choose from a range of subjects such as Astronomy, Photography, Ethics and Engineering.

Full curriculum content can be viewed here.

Year 9 is a transition year in which all students start to choose which creative and technology subjects they wish to study.
