Dress Code

Key Stage 3 and 4 Dress Code

To create a sense of identity and belonging to the Greensward Community and to alleviate the pressures of keeping up with the changes in fashion, all students in Key Stages 3 and 4 must wear full Academy uniform. This must be adhered to whilst travelling to and from the Academy as well as during normal school hours. Extreme hairstyles, make up and nail varnish are NOT permitted and students may wear one pair of stud earrings (i.e. one stud in each ear lobe only) and/or a watch. No other body piercing is allowed. No jewellery must be worn in PE lessons and no jewellery is permitted with the exception of Medic Alert chains.

Key Stage 5 Dress Code

Key Stage 5 students follow a dress code rather than wear a uniform. Clothes should be smart at all times and suitable for an indoor, academic working environment. There should be no low cut tops and very short skirts. Extremes of fashion must be avoided. No denim or trainers are allowed. No body piercings are allowed other than in ear lobes. Coats, scarves, hats and gloves must not be worn around the academy. Greensward Academy makes the final decision as to what is or is not acceptable in all respects of a student’s appearance.

Key Stage 5 Additional Uniform Items
