Angling at Greensward Academy

BTEC in Fish Husbandry

For the last four years we have been running an angling academy here at Greensward. This involves a select number of pupils studying a BTEC in Fish Husbandry for two years, in which they will learn everything from fish biology to practical fishery maintenance. In recent years we have had several students go on to study Level 3 Fishery Management at Shuttleworth College in Bedforshire, which has also resulted in them finding employment within the industry. This short film gives an insight into what the course involves on a weekly basis.  Click here to view.

CONGRATULATIONS TO …

… Josh Forcer with his amazing catch from Crowsheath Fishery. Not only was this 29lbs common carp a new personal best for Josh, it totally obliterated the previous angling academy record of 23lbs which had stood for four years! It's also the biggest fish to be caught at Crowsheath in several years.
