T & L Leader Business Studies and Economics

TMR / UPR depending on experience

TLR 2(c) - £6,322 pa (subject to September 2015 pay award)

The Business and Economics Department is a large department staffed by 5 members of staff. Each teacher has their own allocated classroom with interactive smart boards, white boards and a variety of teaching resources.

We are looking to appoint, first and foremost, an exceptional classroom teacher who has a track record of delivering high quality lessons leading to outstanding outcomes. The department is outstanding, achieving an ALPS grade of 2 across all Key Stage 5 courses this summer. GCSE results are also consistently above national average. The successful candidate would take responsibility for the GCSE Business course and both A level Business Studies and Economics. They would need to be confident and experienced in delivering this level qualification in both disciplines.

The GCSE and A level courses are hugely popular at the academy and the department has continued to grow over recent years. The ideal candidate would therefore have the vision to support this growth and to maintain the high standard of achievement seen to date.

We are looking for an exceptional classroom teacher who demonstrates high standards of delivery in a consistent manner.  You will be committed to improving achievement across Key Stage 4 and understand the strategies required to accomplish this.  You must be a strong leader with the ability to inspire both staff and students.  Enthusiastic, a winning personality, and an imaginative approach to the delivery of the curriculum area and attention to details are essential.

We are always interested in hearing from teachers who can offer additional leadership skills in developing their career.

Potential candidates are encouraged to visit the academy.
